Intro:
Welcome to the Ashes to Wings podcast, where we tell stories of overcomers, and give you tips and tricks to living a fuller, more embodied life, here's your host, Jenni O'Connor.
Jenni:
Hey friends! Welcome to Quick Minute Tips. This Quick Minute Tip is one of my favorite mindfulness activities for feeling more grounded and connected with nature.
When I’m feeling stressed out, I like to spend time near a body of water. This can be the ocean, or a lake, or a little creek... whatever you have access to. There’s something particularly healing about water in nature, but if you don’t have access to natural water right now, you can get an indoor fountain for a fairly low price. I keep one in my office for the winter months.
Whatever your method, make your way to a body of water, and have a seat. Spend some time just watching the water move. Does it trickle, or flow, or dance? Does the light reflect off of it? Then close your eyes and listen to the music of its movement. Lose yourself in the mesmerizing rhythm. See if you can align your breath with the flow of the water, and notice what changes that brings in your body.
Let me know how it went! See you next time!
