Intro:
Welcome to the Ashes to Wings podcast, where we tell stories of overcomers, and give you tips and tricks to living a fuller, more embodied life, here's your host, Jenni O'Connor.
Jenni:
Hi friends! Welcome to Quick Minute Tips. This minute tip features a stress-relieving yoga pose. The best part is you don’t even have to be flexible to do it! Legs Up the Wall Pose is exactly what it sounds like: we’ll have our legs... up the wall! [laughs] This pose regulates blood-flow, helps with swelling, and restores tired legs and feet. So if you’re sitting at a desk all day, or have been walking a lot, this stretch can help bring a sense of relief. This pose is also very soothing to the nervous system, and may help if you suffer from anxiety or Restless Leg Syndrome.
To get into the pose, sit sideways on the floor and scoot your bottom against the wall. Roll onto your back, lifting your legs up, with feet toward the ceiling. If you’re able, have your legs straight against the wall. Otherwise, just do the best you can. Relax in this pose for up to 20 minutes, breathing in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Let me know how it went! See you next time!
